Morgaine Owens’s Beautiful Family

While I was in Vegas in February I was able to visit with my dear friend, Morgaine Owens and meet her sweet family. There’s such a serenity to her and her life and her photography. She’s one of those people who I just connected with from the very first. In September she came to Utah and while she was here she shot my family. Probably the very first family session we’ve ever had and one of the reasons for that is that I’ve never found anyone who shares my vision quite like her. What a gift she gave us. I adore you Morgaine.

Irons in the Fire

I feel like I have so many shoots I’ve done lately with so many cool and exciting people and I have to keep so many of then under wraps due to the fact that they’re for yet-to-be-released commercial projects. So I’m never quite sure what to share.

But I’m pretty sure I can share these photos I took of dancer and free runner Wadi Jones earlier in the month. he’s going to be on THIS little show this upcoming season.

Wadi is the boyfriend of my old friend Amanda….

and here’s one of my beautiful sweet friend Chloe who helped out as an assistant on this shoot and Wadi as the dancers they both are…

Spots (our pony)

This Christmas we got pony. A real pony. He’s a Pony of the Americas pony (appaloosa/shetland mix) and as gentle as can be.

Before Christmas, knowing Ellery wanted a pony, and having already picked this guy out, I asked her what she’d name a pony if she ever got one. She said to me “I’ve been thinking about this for almost a year now and I’d name him Spots”

Well. That was that. Spots came on Christmas and was named Spots and we love him.

sorry. again.

It’s time for me to repent again and vow to do better at blogging. I will. I promise.

And there really is lots to tell — but what to put here as a little treat to you guys? Cause everything I have to tell seems to deserve it’s own post — really COOL stuff and great news coming soon — stay tuned.

But here are pics from a senior session I did recently. I liked them a lot.

Facebook Hell

Hi guys.

This is not photo heavy post. It’s more informational and confessional.

Last week my Facebook account was hacked and consequently Facebook froze it and then deleted it.

Everything.

It’s as though I never existed and 4 years of Facebook contacts are gone. My groups, my emails, tags, linked blogs (this one) everything.

Trying to get a hold of an actual person behind Facebook to help has been impossible. So I’ve given up and made myself a new account.

And I mourn all my friends. I’m trying to add everyone back as quickly as I possibly can remember, but – please, if you notice that I’m not friends with you anymore, or if you want to be friends, please add me again as a contact….

Thanks!

behind the scenes…

just thought I’d share a few behind the scenes shots from our last Twisted Silver shoot.

Setting the scene – it was very cold (unheated building in late November) and we shot for a few hours. All of our noses were dripping by the end of the shoot. The girls were total troopers and stuck in there for us.

and here are a just a few from the shoot

Hobnobbing in LA

This week I flew out to LA in Hollywood and shot for Debbie at Twisted Silver at a celebrity gifting event. The event was a pre-show gifting suite at the Bliss Spa at the W Hotel. The show was later that night for Kelly Nishimoto‘s launch of her newest fashion line.

Here are some shots from the night…

Singer/songwriter Meiko tries out Twisted Silver – she was darling. Very earthy and real.

the lovely Kelly Nishimoto herself

Trish Suhr. Who I liked SO MUCH. She was darling. She's on a cleaning tv program I think.

another gal who I wasn’t sure who she was, but I’m sure someone out there knows who she is. They said she was on the Disney Channel.

Derek, the chef behind the most excellent cookies from a company called The Cravory. They have over 900 cookie flavors!

Damien Wayons and Kelly Nishimoto. Damien had the sweetest shoes on – pewter colored hi-tops. I gushed about them to him and he expressed concern that I might mug him for his shoes…) He was one of my favorites from that night.

So after the gifting suite we ate (cause it had been all day) and our feet were killing us so we went up to the second floor that overlooks the location of the show and ate and watched there. It was much warmer and more comfortable.

The crowd gathers below waiting for the show to begin...

I was too cold and too tired to be outside and watch the red carpet (which was really pink fur) so I watched it from inside)

There were so many other people there and we had so much fun. I just can’t wait to do more!
