I adore Megan of the Sweet Tooth Fairy and recently she contacted me to commission some photos for the walls of her new store in Draper. Of course there would be Megan there and STF Cupcakes so I drove pretty fast to get there.

Anyway – I wanted to do something that was a bit dreamy and Meg wanted something a big vintage-y and I wanted them to look sweet too.

we have chicks again this year.

a black star (named Halley), a white orpington (Snowball) and a amerucana (Mabel).

they’ve been loads of fun so far. loads of fun and loads of poop.

anyway – developed by me in caffenol.

my husband is this amazing artist.

he paints in monochromatic oils but occasionally ventures into charcoal, graphite and other mediums.

along with painting his work, he makes his own frames for his pieces from scratch. he’s studied antique techniques of frame making and i tell you, the frames take as long as the paintings do to make.

i’m always so proud of him and his beautiful, sensitive work.

anyway, i photographed him making frames last week in his studio.

I’ll confess, I forgot to squeegee them before they dried so thus the waterspots.

SO i got my film scanner in the mail today.

Be still my heart.

Scanned the film I developed the other day for reals and now that my ducks are in a row i’ll be shooting and developing more often.

I get dizzy with excitement just thinking about it.

Have much tweaking on the processing so the development will be better but overall, considering it was double exposed film and developed with coffee and my first….i’m pretty pleased.

Some of the roll was double exposed from this past Stadium of Fire 4th of July show (the Jonas Bros came to sing – the little heartthrobbers) – no idea how it happened but i like some of the results.

love this one – - it’s Asher and the Jonas Brothers Concert. It seems like a wonderful juxtaposition.
