my first quilt since 8th grade Home Ec class…

In eighth grade our grade was based on the quilt we made (can’t remember – did the boys have this assignment too?) anyway – we had to bring in my aunt (from PA) to help us finish this little assignment – at least that’s the way I remember it.

But I love love quilts. Especially those 30s feedsack kinds – yum!

So just this month I finally attempted Mount Everest — I made a quilt myself.

I’m pretty proud of it. I’m not a person who pays much attention to details – in fact, i’m all about fast and easy and when i sew it’s the same story. But this was a great place to start for me. And I made a little one for Asher’s crib.

It’s made of squares from new fabrics from Moda and vintage scraps that I got on eBay.
